Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto, and XCOM publisher Take-Two Interactive is showing enthusiasm for Nintendo’s next console, right now called the “NX”.
Take-Two Interactive chief executive Strauss Zelnick said that Take-Two still has faith in their new hardware, even with the lackluster performance of the Wii U, in a comment to GamesIndustry.biz.
“We’re believers. We never want to count Nintendo out. They do it over and over and over again. So we feel pretty enthusiastic really.”
Zelnick also said, “It’s not a slump, it’s intentional. They come to market, they do really well, and then they sort of exit the market for a period of time. They’ve been doing it for like 150 years, and that company has been doing the same thing… They’re really thoughtful, they come to market with something they really think is going to work, more often than not it really works, it blows up and then eventually they let it decline and they move on to the next thing. They don’t mind having time in between.”
Nintendo’s next platform has been confirmed earlier this year to release in March of 2017, with rumors that the newest Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be a launch title, when it launches on both the Wii U and NX.
What does Take-Two’s enthusiasm mean for the Nintendo NX? Does this mean that Nintendo will see more, and better third-party support this generation? We hope so. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
