Rumor: Next Assassins Creed Game May Not Release Until 2017

According to Kotaku, a source within Ubisoft has stated that the next traditional Assassins Creed game, that is rumored to be set in Egypt, will not release until 2017. Of course this is nothing but rumor right now and should be taken with a grain of salt, but it would not be surprising if Ubisoft went this route.

The fact is that we have had a Assassins Creed game release every year for a while now, with two of the games, Unity and Rogue coming out in 2014. Unity had its slew of issues which may have kept it to perform well, which in turn led to lower sales for 2015’s Assassins Creed Syndicate, which also had some technical issues as well but turned up great reviews overall.

I for one am on board for this. I think there needs to be some polishing done on the games to help the look and performance. It also seems like this is a series that has probably had some franchise fatigue for a while now.

I think most of us can agree this is good overall, but do you think otherwise? Should it just go away? Where do you want to see a Assassins Creed game take place? Let us know in the comments below.
