Nintendo announced during its Direct today that Super Mario Maker will be released on 3DS on December 2nd, 2016. Sounds cool, right? Here’s the rub: this version of the game will not be able to upload levels online. You’ll only be able to share levels you’ve made locally or through StreetPass. The game will include 100 Nintendo-made levels, and you will be able to play some levels made on the Wii U version, though some of them are considered “incompatible” for unknown reasons. Maybe some levels are too big or something, I dunno. Oh, also, no Mystery Mushroom costumes. Personally, I’m indifferent to this news, as I don’t have a Wii U, and even if I did, I never cared much about Super Mario Maker, but I imagine those of you who do care may feel a tad chafed by this, to say the least.
